Look Out Google and Apple, Here Comes Dr. Dre

One of the nice things about being Jimmy Iovine is that when you call Dr. Dre, the world’s most famous hip-hop producer, he actually picks up the phone. That’s likely because the two have had a habit over the years of making millions on various collaborations. Iovine — who first earned a name for himself behind the mixing console, recording rock classics such as Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run and U2’s Rattle and Hum — signed a deal with Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment in 1996, after Dre had established himself as a hitmaker with the seminal rap squad N.W.A. Since then, Dre has produced Eminem, 50 Cent, Eve and Gwen Stefani for Iovine’s company, Interscope Records. And for more than five years, the two have been partners in Beats by Dre, which has succeeded in transforming headphones from a ubiquitous into a must-have fashion accessory — one consumers are willing to pay $300 for.

Now the two are embarking on the riskiest gamble in the company’s short history. They are betting that if the Beats image can sell tony headphones, it can also win customers in the record industry’s most crowded and tumultuous new sector: streaming music.

“Fast & Furious” star Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas did not have alcohol or drugs in their systems on Nov. 30 when the two men died, but the red Porsche they were in was traveling at an “unsafe speed,” according to a Los Angeles County coroner’s report released Friday.

According to the investigator’s findings, the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT was traveling at “approximately 100+ mph” before the crash occurred, and was “almost split in half” by the impact.

The report says that Rodas, the driver, lost control “for unknown reasons” and the car then struck a curb, then a tree and a concrete lamppost and spun around, then hit another tree and burst into flames.

Walker, 40, and Rodas, 38, had taken the sports car out for a short ride in Santa Clarita, Calif., where Walker was attending a charity event.

It was previously announced that the men died of traumatic injuries sustained in the crash. Debris and other roadway conditions were ruled out as a cause of the crash.

Classic video interview from Funny or Die!

“I am a lover of humanity, not a hater.”

Phil Robertson is facing some serious backlash in the wake of his controversial GQinterview, but that doesn’t mean he’s backing down on his stance against homosexuality.

On Sunday, Dec. 22, the Duck Dynasty star spoke out for the first time since being suspended indefinitely from his family’s hit A&E show. Robertson, who granted the Daily Mail access to the Bible study group he addressed at a West Monroe, Louisiana, church, cited his Christian religion as the reason for his unwavering stance, saying, “I will not give or back off from my path.”

“I love all men and women,” said the 67-year-old Robertson family patriarch.  “I am a lover of humanity, not a hater.”

“Sexual sins are numerous and many, I have a few myself,” he admitted. “So what is your safest course of action? If you’re a man, find yourself a woman, marry them and keep your sex right there.”

“Commonsense says we are not going to procreate the human race unless we have a man and a woman. From the beginning Jesus said, ‘It is a man and a woman,'” he went on. “Adam was made and Eve was made for this reason. They left their fathers and mothers and be united to become one flesh, that’s what marriage is all about.”

“All I did was quote from the scriptures, but they just didn’t know it,” he claimed of his anti-gay comments. “Whether I said it, or they read it, what’s the difference? The sins are the same, humans haven’t changed.”

Duck Dynasty, love it or hate it……at least it’s not “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”!
